Our Suggested Itinerary

3 days from £190 or 4 days from £250

  1. Day 1

    Depart school and travel to York. 

    Visit York Minster, one of the greatest cathedrals in the world.  Your group will enjoy a guided tour of the Minster and educational workshop at the Learning Centre, covering a range of KS2/3/4 subjects.

    York's Chocolate Story - take an entertaining and informative guided tour through the history of York’s most famous chocolate-making families and their finest creations.  Tours conclude with the chance to create your own chocolate bar and see demonstrations from an expert Chocolatier.

    In the evening, gather at the steps of Clifford’s Tower for a fun evening of storytelling from York’s past, on a ghost walk specially curated for children.

  2. Day 2

    Self-guided visit to the York Castle Museum, home to the world-famous recreated Victorian street, Kirkgate, and the York Castle Prison Experience.  Let us know if you'd like to add on an educational workshop!

    Highlight of any school trip to York - a visit to the Jorvik Viking Centre and DIG!  The JORVIK Viking Centre is a ‘must-see’ for visitors to York and is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the UK.  Entry to DIG - An Archaeological Adventure - is also included - your pupils will get their hands dirty in excavation pits!

    Pay a visit to the National Railway Museum, the largest railway museum in the world!  Discover 300 years of history and 1,000,000 objects that changed the world.

  3. Day 3

    Eden Camp Modern History Museum.  Travel back in time to war-time Britain and see the story of World War Two re-created using sights, sounds, smells and moving figures.

    Visit Castle Howard, a magnificent 18th-century residence set within 1,000 acres of breathtaking landscape in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Pupils can let off some steam on the adventure playground here before the journey back to school.

  4. Optional Day 4

    We can include a visit to the Flamingo Land theme park if you would like to round off your trip on a lighter note!

Accommodation

Our schools usually stay at Safestay York or the YHA York.  We use safe and secure accommodation especially suited to schools and our options are usually 2* or youth hostel standard.  All accommodation we use is audited, and our auditing regime is verified by independent experts.
