Overview

There's no denying that Vienna is a cultural gem, known world-wide as the City of Music and the City of Dreams. Its beauty has inspired artists for decades, no matter their medium, from legendary composers like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven to symbolist master Gustav Klimt and the visual artists involved in the Vienna Secession.

Art, music and theatre live in harmony and our itineraries offer a tantalising snapshot of all that’s on offer in this beautiful city.

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Morning flight to Vienna.

Start your trip visiting the Leopold Museum where you can discover hundreds of masterworks of Austrian modern art collected by the passionate art lover Dr. Rudolf Leopold.

  2. Day 2

Spend the morning visiting Mozart-Haus, the residence where the great composer spent two and a half happy and productive years.  It was here that he penned The Marriage of Figaro!

Then discover the Albertina which is the largest Habsburg residential palace.  It blends an imperial flair with unrivalled masterpieces of art.

In the afternoon, visit the stunning Schönbrunn Palace, with its lovely gardens and fountains, and round up your day with the Marionettentheater.  You will discover the world of marionettes, fantasy, theatre and art with small figurines made of wood brought to life by the puppeteers!

  3. Day 3

Enjoy a morning guided tour of the Musikverein, one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, before visiting the Theatermuseum.  Here highlights of the magic of stage are caught forever: stage models, costumes, props and theatre photos are among the holdings of the museum!

Afterwards continue learning about the magic of theatre with one of the museum’s fascinating theatre workshops.

In the evening, enjoy a performance at the Vienna State Opera – an unforgettable experience!

  4. Day 4

On your last morning in Vienna, visit The Belvedere, a magnificent palace complex which houses a breathtaking art collection amidst Baroque architecture and formal French gardens. Look out of Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’!

    OR

Discover Haus der Musik, one of Vienna’s more unusual museums.  It explains sound in an amusing and interactive way (in English and German) for both children and adults.

Afternoon flight back to the UK.
