Overview

Thanks to its ideal climate, long nights, and clear skies, Tenerife is one of the best places in the world for stargazing!  The island’s unspoilt night sky is protected by law, attracting scientists from across the globe.

Teide National Park is a Starlight Reservation covering almost 200km² of the island and is dominated by Mount Teide.  With an expert guide, students can observe the night sky here using professional telescopes!  It is also home to the renowned Teide Observatory, which offers astrophysics talks and guided tours of its solar and nocturnal telescopes. 

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Flight to Tenerife.

  2. Day 2

    Visit the interactive Museo de la Ciencia y el Cosmos, an experimental museum devoted to science and astronomy.
    Tour the Teide Observatory and see its nocturnal and solar telescopes, followed by an astrophysics talk.
    Enjoy the sunset from Mount Teide and stargaze after dark with an expert guide, using long-range telescopes.

  3. Day 3

    Make the most of Tenerife’s wonderful climate at the beach. 
    Visit the curious Pyramids of Güímar, which are astronomically aligned with the summer and winter solstices.

  4. Day 4

    Flight back to the UK.
