Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

Depart School and travel to Stratford.

There are a number of visits to choose from within Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust, we recommend picking your two favourites:

Visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, walk in the famous writer’s footsteps and explore his childhood world.  Learn about Shakespeare’s family life and get up close to rare objects from the Trust’s world-class collections.

Head to Mary Arden’s Farm to discover the childhood home of Shakespeare’s mother and experience the sights, sounds and smells of a working Tudor farm.

Visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the beautiful 500-year-old cottage where Shakespeare courted his bride-to-be.

Go to Shakespeare’s New Place to walk in his footsteps and meet the man behind the works in a fascinating new exhibition at his family home, where he is believed to have written many of his most famous plays!

Visit Hall’s Croft and explore the beautifully furnished Jacobean home of Shakespeare’s daughter Susanna and her husbands, the physician John Hall.

In the afternoon, go on a boat trip around Stratford’s canal basin.  From the water you’ll see the lovely waterfront parks and be overlooked by the famous Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre.

Choose between our two exciting evening activities:

Go on a Ghost Walk and discover the buildings where there are tales of ghosts, witches, murder and mystery!

    OR

Head to the Royal Shakespeare Company for a fantastic night at the theatre to see one of Shakespeare’s famous plays.

  2. Day 2

Spend the day at the impressive Warwick Castle and experience one thousand years of jaw-dropping history, magic, myth and adventure!  There is plenty of activities to do both indoors and outdoors all year round.
