Overview

Seville is undoubtedly one of our favourite destinations!

The flamboyant and historic Andalusian city of Seville is a fantastic place for everything Spanish - culture, tradition and language!  Stroll through historic streets, experience a stunning Flamenco show, practise Spanish in language classes, and marvel at the impressive cathedral.

Our Seville Culture & Language itinerary can be combined with visits to Granada too – have a look at our Granada: Art & History and Discover Andalucía itineraries to see what you could visit there!

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Morning flight to Seville.

In the afternoon, get you bearings in the flamboyant and historic Andalusian city with a self-guided tour of the city.

  2. Day 2

In the morning, head over to the Language School for Spanish tuition tailored to meet your learning objectives.

At lunchtime, visit Mercado Lonja del Barranco to pick up some lunch.  Students can order in Spanish too, a further chance to put their language skills to the test!

Afterwards, visit the glorious riverside Torre del Oro.  Built around 1220, the Golden Tower was constructed as a military watchtower and is the last major building of the Almohads.

Later on, visit Museo del Baile Flamenco which spans over three floors of an 18th century palace.  Inside you will discover the mysterious art of flamenco!  After your visit to the museum, sit back and marvel at an electrifying flamenco show!

  3. Day 3

In the morning, head over to the Language School for Spanish tuition tailored to meet your learning objectives.

After the language class, take a well-deserved break and enjoy a scenic River Cruise along Río Gaudalquivir.

In the afternoon, visit Catedral de Sevilla with its impressive collection of religious art and the tomb of Christopher Columbus.  This cathedral is a beauty to behold both inside and out.

After your visit to the cathedral, spends some time exploring Barrio de la Cruz, Sevilla’s Jewish Quarter.  Here you will find winding cobbled streets studded with window boxes filled to the brim with flowers, and stunning whitewashed houses.

  4. Day 4

In the morning, head over to the Language School for Spanish tuition tailored to meet your learning objectives.

In the afternoon, visit Real Alcázar de Sevilla, a UNESCO World Heritage site.  The palace has evolved over the centuries and showcases the influence of the many cultures who have called Sevilla their home.

A short walk from Real Alcázar de Sevilla you will find Plaza de España and Parque de María Luisa.  Plaza de España is undoubtedly one of the most impressive squares in Spain - sprawling over 50,000 square metres, it’s the size of five football pitches!  Across from the square you will find Parque de María Luisa where giant exotic trees provide welcome shade!

Optional evening activity: cook up a storm in a Spanish Cooking Class where you will learn how to prepare and cook traditional Spanish dishes and taste them too!

  5. Day 5

Spend your last morning in Sevilla in Plaza de la Encarnación, where you will find Metropol Parasol, named ‘Las Setas’ by locals for its mushroom-like appearance!  Jürgen Mayer-Hermann’s daring creation has slotted into Sevilla’s ancient core with a weird kind of harmony, turning (and tilting) the heads of all who pass.

If time allows, head over to Calle Sierpes for a spot of shopping – a great opportunity to pick up last minute souvenirs.

    OR

Discover Spain’s most controversial tradition with a visit to Real Maestranza de Caballería, Sevilla’s bullring.

    Afternoon return flight home.
