Since the 1990s, San Francisco has been the scene of the dot-com revolution’s meteoric rise, fall and recovery.

Home to the famous Silicon Valley with many of the world's largest technology corporations, as well as thousands of small start-up companies, it is a fascinating destination for technology students.

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Flight to San Francisco International Airport and transfer to your accommodation.

    Explore Chinatown, one of the biggest attractions of the city and the largest Chinatown outside of Asia, as well as the oldest in North America.

  2. Day 2

    Silicon Valley Excursion.  Take a tour of Silicon Valley and learn about its ascent from humble beginnings to its current role as the nation's hub of high-tech businesses.

    Visit the world-famous Stanford University for a guided tour.

    The Intel Museum is located at Intel's headquarters in Santa Clara, California, and has exhibits of Intel's products and history as well as semiconductor technology in general - a highly popular visit!

    Visit San Jose, known as the capital of Silicon Valley.

    The Tech Museum of Innovation is a hands-on technology and science museum for people of all ages and backgrounds.

  3. Day 3

    Pay a visit to the HP Garage - this tiny shed-come-garage was the birthplace of HP in 1939, when Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard rented it to become the original Silicon Valley startup.

    Stop at Google in front of their Android Building - maybe find a Google bike or two for a photo-op!

    Make a quick stop at the Apple Campus! 

    A visit to the Computer History Museum will reveal the fascinating and often surprising connections between past innovations, people and stories, and the technologies that pervade our lives today.

  4. Day 4

    Visit Alcatraz.  Step back in time and experience the legendary island that has been a civil war fort, a military prison and one of the most notorious federal penitentiaries in US history.

    Explore San Francisco - stroll along the Presidio, enjoy a photostop by the Golden Gate Bridge, hike up Lombard Street, ride a cable car and marvel at the Japanese Tea Garden in the Golden Gate Park.

    Transfer to San Francisco International Airport for a flight back home.

  5. Day 5

    Arrive back home.
