Overview

The Spanish capital is one of the cultural centres of Europe boasting a wealth of world-renowned art galleries.  The Museo del Prado, the Museo Reina Sofía and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza are perhaps the most well-known and together make up the ‘Golden Triangle’.  Whether admiring Velázquez’s Las Meninas or gazing at Picasso’s Guernica, Madrid is bound to inspire any budding artists.

As well as its wealth of cultural centres, quintessentially Spanish squares like Plaza Mayor or Puerta del Sol provide the perfect setting to get out your sketch book, to meet the locals or to simply gather artistic inspiration from the many traditional cafés.
