Of course, there is so much to see and do in New York and this itinerary combines this great city with the somewhat underestimated city of Boston.  We’ve selected some highlights of New York such as heading up the Empire State Building and visiting the 9/11 Memorial.  Then head up to Boston to explore significant historical events that have shaped America today.

Walk the Freedom Trail to visit the important sites and then have the chance to visit Salem, home to America’s famous witch trials!  You’ll also be able to visit the world-renowned Harvard University and find out what it’s like to be a student at one of the best universities in the world!

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Flight to New York.

    Arrive and settle into your accommodation.

    On arrival in New York, head up the Empire State Building and take in the spectacular New York skyline from the Observation Deck on the 86th floor.

  2. Day 2

    Start your day by visiting the 9/11 Memorial, the site of the attack that caused the greatest paradigm shift of this century in both American and global politics.

    Then gain an insight into the origins of modern New York with a visit to the Statue of Liberty and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.

    Spend some time exploring Herald Square, where 34th Street, 6th Avenue and Broadway converge.  The square is dominated by Macy’s, the self-proclaimed “biggest department store in the world!”

    In the evening, treat yourselves to a fantastic Broadway Show!

  3. Day 3

    In the morning, spend some time exploring New York's vast Central Park, a National Historic Landmark and one of the most filmed locations in the world!  Then head to Fifth Avenue for a truly unique shopping experience.

    Coach transfer to Boston.

    On arrival, settle into your accommodation then head out for some Local Orientation, exploring this historic city!

    In the evening, head to a sports game: enjoy watching a game of basketball or ice hockey, 2 of America's most iconic sports!

  4. Day 4

    Take a day trip across the bay to Salem - home to America's famous witch trials of 1692! Go on a 50 minute ferry ride across Massachusetts Bay to Salem!

    Experience one of the spookiest towns in America with a guided walking tour around its most significant sights.

    Afterwards, visit the Salem Witch Museum where visitors can experience the drama of the trials though thirteen life-size stage sets, figures, lighting and a stirring narration as they are witness to the web of lies and intrigue of the Witch Hunt!

    Then hop on the boat back across the bay to Boston.

  5. Day 5

    Start your day with a trip to the world-renowned Harvard University.  Go on a guided tour to learn about the history of this great establishment.

    Back in Boston, meander along the lovely Harborwalk, which stretches for 40 miles of public access at the water’s edge.

    Before you leave, head to Boston Common, the oldest city park in the United States, dating back to 1634.

    Return Flight.

  6. Day 6

    Arrive in the UK.
