About Provence

Provence is one of the most beautiful regions in France and is known for its very contrasting landscapes.  It borders Italy and the Mediterranean Sea and is home to the Southern Alps, the Camargue wetlands, rolling vineyards, olive groves and vibrant purple lavender fields.

The region is a wonderful place to visit to understand the richness of French culture.  Exploring the Provencal markets for fresh produce is a great experience, and is the perfect way to mix with locals, and maybe practise some French!  Taste local specialties like tapenade and take in the scent of rosemary.

Furthermore, it is a region rich in history with many landmarks left by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans.  In fact, Provence is a living museum of some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in Europe.  This is truly a fascinating region with so much to see and do!
