Geneva is home to the world's biggest and most respected scientific centre, CERN, which offers guided tours and visits to two fascinating exhibitions. Our Suggested Itinerary

Day 1
Fly to Geneva and transfer by train to your accommodation.
Visit the History of Science Museum to see an intriguing collection of scientific instruments from the 17th to the 19th century.
Then spend some time in the beautiful Botanical Gardens, an oasis of tranquillity and a wonderful escape from the city.
To top off your first day, enjoy a traditional Swiss fondue to the tune of a live folk band!

Day 2
CERN
You’ll spend today at CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire)!Your visit will include the official guided tour and the chance to network with scientists over lunch in the CERN restaurant. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Science Gateway with the exhibitions ‘Discover CERN', 'Our Universe' and ‘Quantum World’.
Finish your day with a relaxing and well-deserved mini-cruise on the beautiful Lake Geneva.

Day 3
EINSTEIN'S BERN
Spend the day exploring Switzerland's spectacular capital, Bern!Discover the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a guided tour.
After lunch, visit the Einstein House - once the apartment of Albert Einstein, it was here that he wrote the Annus Mirabilis papers and developed the special theory of relativity!
Then visit the Einstein Museum, where you will discover the biography of the genius Einstein and his ground-breaking discoveries.
Optional extra: enjoy a delicious evening meal at a restaurant in Bern’s famous Bear Park!

Day 4
Visit the Museum of Natural History and discover frogs, toads and indigenous birds, Lucy and the dinosaurs… and much more!
Afterwards, explore Geneva’s picturesque Old Quarter and buy some souvenirs before your journey home.
Flight back to the UK.

There is a wide choice of accommodation available in Geneva, some specifically recommended by CERN. Most schools travelling with us choose the Geneva Hostel, but there are hotel options and other hostels available.
