Overview

Tokyo is an incredible destination for Computer Science school trips!  Your students will be exposed to the cutting-edge technology of major companies such as Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba, whilst also having the opportunity to see the city's traditional side.

Our itinerary is a balance of tech visits and cultural sites, including some of Tokyo's most important shrines and shopping districts. 

Our Suggested Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Overnight flight to Tokyo.

  2. Day 2

    Early morning arrival in Tokyo, transfer to central Tokyo by chartered coach with local guide.
    Climb up the Tokyo Government Office Building to access its Observatory and take in the amazing view 243 metres above the ground!
    Stroll around the popular district of Shinjuku, where many electronics shopping malls can be found!

  3. Day 3

    Visit the National Railway Museum to learn about the world-famous Japanese shinkansen!
    Head to the Suginami Animation Museum, which offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of the development of anime.
    Admire the iconic Meiji Shrine, built in 1920 and dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken.
    Spend some time in Harajuku, one of Tokyo’s trendiest neighbourhoods!

  4. Day 4

    Visit the Imperial Palace (East Garden) formerly known as Edo Castle, where Japan’s Emperor and the Imperial family still reside.
    Explore the WHARF exhibition at the NTT Exhibition Hall and learn about the future of mobile communications.
    The Toshiba Science Museum introduces the history of the brand, through a History Zone, experiments and workshops, a Science Zone and a Future Zone.
    Witness the performance of the Asimo robot at Honda Welcome Plaza!
    Round off your day with some leisure time in Akihabara district, famous for its many electronics shops.

  5. Day 5

    Spend the morning at Miraikan, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation with its interactive displays on robots, genetic discoveries, space and astronomy and, perhaps most bizarre of all, a model using springs and ball bearings to explain the operating principle of the internet.
    Stroll through the Sony ExploraScience, a science hall explaining the link between the newest technology and basic science principles.
    Explore the Panasonic Center Tokyo, where technology and fun meet!  You will see the latest Panasonic developments and enjoy the hands-on science and mathematics exhibits at RiSuPia museum.
    Relax from this busy day in Odaiba, a popular shopping and entertainment district on a man-made island in Tokyo Bay!

  6. Day 6

    Return flight home.
